Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - After the start of distance learning after the Easter holidays, boys and girls in most regions of the country can at least partially go to school again from the coming week.

The Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Culture confirmed its plans on Wednesday, regardless of the federal government's planned new infection protection law, that schools in areas below a corona incidence of 200 should switch to a so-called alternation of face-to-face and distance learning or pure face-to-face teaching from Monday.

All grades in all types of schools could do this to the extent that compliance with distances and other hygiene requirements and the available test offers made this possible, according to a published letter from the ministry to the school management.

Special regulations apply in urban and rural districts with a seven-day incidence of over 200 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants.

Here, schools are to switch to distance learning as a mandatory requirement.

On Wednesday, seven Baden-Württemberg districts were above this threshold.

Among other things, the emergency care in grades 1 to 7 should also remain in these high incidence areas, it said.

In addition, according to the ministry, there will be an incidence-independent test requirement with two tests per week when participating in face-to-face classes.

Initially, it was planned to only introduce such a regulation in circles with an incidence of 100 or more.

With this tightening, the state is implementing previously planned regulations from a new version of the Federal Infection Protection Act, which still has to be passed by the Bundestag and Bundesrat.

However, people who have been vaccinated and who have recovered from Corona should be exempt from this test.
