- We will use part of the surplus to equip Stockholm for the future.

Around SEK 450 million will be used for investments in skills development, climate adaptation, digitalisation, security and social investments, says Anna König Jerlmyr (M), Mayor of the City of Stockholm.

There are several reasons why the surplus became a record high in 2020 according to the Danish Citizens' Council.

This is partly due to the city selling holdings of properties and land for SEK 2.7 billion.

On the one hand, money has come in from municipal activities and state aid, which accounts for approximately SEK 800 million and approximately SEK 900 million, respectively.

In 2021, the city will make investments in new housing, schools and preschools at a cost of 25 billion.
