[Depth] National Security Agency Disclosures: Inside Story of Overseas Anti-China Hostile Forces Winning Mainland Students

[Global Times reporter Fan Lingzhi] April 15 this year is the sixth National Security Education Day for all people. National security agencies disclosed a series of typical cases involving political security.

The Global Times reporter noted that, unlike the previous disclosures of anti-espionage cases before and after April 15th, the contents of the cases disclosed this year are mainly political and security-related. The relevant persons involved or colluded with overseas anti-China forces to subvert state power, or Take the opportunity of studying in Hong Kong to participate in anti-China activities against Hong Kong.

Li Wei, a researcher at the China Institute of Modern International Relations, said in an interview with a reporter from the Global Times that this shows that when understanding the overall national security concept, one cannot confine himself to a narrow understanding. “Among the national security challenges we are currently facing, political security challenges It can be said to be in the first place."

He accepted specific instructions from more than ten senior officials of a certain country to slander China

"Global Times" reporters learned from the national security agency that in August 2020, the national security agency detected a case involving Tian Mou, a student from a college in Hebei, inciting subversion of state power, promptly thwarting the attempts of overseas anti-China forces to cultivate and foster domestic agents.

Tian was born in 1999 as a journalism student of a college in Hebei.

Tian started listening to overseas anti-China media radio programs since he was 8 years old, and often "over the wall" to browse a large number of overseas anti-China political information.

In January 2016, Tian opened an overseas social media account and began to interact with foreign anti-Chinese hostile forces.

After entering the university, Tian was recommended by an overseas anti-China media reporter and became an intern reporter at the Beijing branch of a well-known western media.

"Global Times" reporter learned that during this period, Tian received a large amount of activity funds, intervened in the hype of a number of hot and sensitive cases, provided more than 3,000 anti-propaganda materials overseas, and published more than 500 signed articles.

Instigated by foreign forces, Tian established an overseas anti-China website in 2018, spreading various anti-China information and political rumors, and carrying out vicious attacks on China.

In April 2019, Tian was invited by an overseas anti-China media person to secretly go to a certain Western country, contacted more than 20 hostile organizations abroad, and accepted direct inquiries and specific instructions from more than a dozen officials of the country, secretly collected and provided slander abroad The so-called "evidence" that discredited China.

Due to the series of infiltration activities carried out by Tian in contact with overseas anti-China organizations that seriously endangered my country's political security, the national security organs, through rigorous investigations, arrested Tian in accordance with the law in June 2019.

"This is a typical case of the American and Western anti-China forces infiltrating and drawing Chinese student groups in the ideological field." Li Wei, a researcher at the China Institute of Modern International Relations, told a reporter from the Global Times.

"Whether or not to work in the Western media is everyone's freedom to choose a career, but any industry should have corresponding professional ethics. If you just borrow media clothing to engage in acts that endanger the security of other countries, it is a crime." Li Wei believes this It is not that Western media practitioners are endangering China's national security, but some Western media reporters do accept the support of Western politicians and intelligence agencies.

In the process of concocting the so-called "genocide" and "forced labor" rumors by anti-China forces in Xinjiang, the western media played a very important role.

"Just like the parties in this case, they often receive training abroad, obtain economic support from hostile forces, and implement the political intentions of anti-China politicians to disrupt China."

Mainland students going to Hong Kong encounter a "heart attack"

A reporter from the Global Times learned that some mainland students were also involved in the violent incident of anti-China and unrest in Hong Kong that took place in Hong Kong in 2019 for several months.

In June 2020, the national security agency detected a case in which Yang Moumou, a student from the mainland who went to Hong Kong, was involved in activities that subverted our country's power and was engaged in activities that subverted our country's power and countered China's turmoil in Hong Kong by collaborating with foreign hostile organizations and anti-China and Hong Kong forces.

Born in 1995, Yang graduated from the School of Journalism and Communication of a University in Jiangsu. In 2017, he went to a university in Hong Kong to study for a master's degree in film.

During his study in Hong Kong, Yang Moumou was influenced by the remarks of anti-China forces abroad and developed hostile sentiments towards mainland China.

In October 2018, Yang Moumou participated in a foreign hostile organization to organize party and association activities to help carry out anti-China propaganda and participate in illegal demonstrations.

Subsequently, he was appointed by a hostile organization to lead topic discussions on the Internet and forward video pictures.

At the same time, as a group administrator, Yang joined the "Small Salon", the core group of the hostile organization. He frequently issued joint letters to "block Chinese companies" in the group to discuss my country's territorial issues and proposed the use of WiFi hotspots. And AirDrop disseminates anti-China propaganda materials and other "expanding organizational influence" programs.

During Hong Kong's "Regulations Amendment Disturbance" in June 2019, Yang tweeted in support of the mob, guided members of the group to pay attention to, discuss, and even "infuse" Hong Kong's "struggle experience" into the territory.

The "Global Times" reporter learned that in June 2020, the national security organs arrested Yang Moumou in accordance with the law.

Through education and probation, Yang confessed to illegal and criminal acts, took the initiative to confess and expose the ugly acts of foreign hostile forces, and promised not to engage in activities that endanger national security.

Yang's illegal and criminal behavior is not a case in Hong Kong's "Regulations Amendment Disturbance".

In May 2020, the national security agency detected an anti-China hostile force infiltrating and wooing Chen Moumou, a student from the Mainland to Hong Kong, to engage in anti-China activities against Hong Kong.

Chen Moumou, born in 1996, has studied for bachelor's and master's degrees at the University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University of Hong Kong since 2014.

After studying in Hong Kong, he was affected by the complex social and political environment in Hong Kong, and gradually formed an anti-China political stance and a political speculative mentality. He tried his best to deny the party's leadership and the socialist system in thought, words and deeds.

During the Hong Kong "Regulations Amendment Disturbance", Chen Moumou published a large number of comments on social media supporting criminal acts, attacking the central government's governance of Hong Kong, and even publicly claiming to "recover Hong Kong."

In May 2020, the national security agency conducted a review of Chen XX in accordance with the law.

Chen Moumou truthfully confessed his experience of joining an anti-China organization and confessed to public support for "Hong Kong independence" and other illegal activities.

Under the patient education and guidance of the state security agency's case-handling officers, Chen's ideology was completely reversed, and he took the initiative to write more than 100,000 words of remorse materials, expressing that he would change his past and no longer participate in any illegal activities.

It is understood that in recent years, foreign anti-China hostile forces have launched an ideological "heart war" against domestic personnel. A small number of students studying abroad have been coerced into hostile activities because they are young and are not deeply susceptible to incitement and incitement.

It can be seen from the above cases that the overseas anti-Chinese hostile forces are increasingly focusing on using the characteristics of the unformed values of the mainland students going to Hong Kong, their weak political discrimination, the urgent need to integrate into the new environment, and the pursuit of personal interests, etc., through political “brainwashing” and interest induction The means tried their best to win over them.

"The various methods of foreign anti-Chinese hostile forces make young students unpredictable. They can easily become'pawns' in the hands of others under certain circumstances." Li Wei analyzed the "Global Times" and it can be seen from the disclosed cases that overseas When the anti-Chinese hostile forces look for candidates, they will be selected based on the dynamics of the other party’s thoughts revealed on the Internet, and then gradually contact and develop. Some young people with weak judgment and discernment are prone to fall into the trap and become the “chess pieces” of the anti-China forces. ".

A legal scholar told the Global Times reporter that the Mainland’s Criminal Law, the National Security Law and the Hong Kong National Security Law just implemented in Hong Kong all have relevant legal provisions on colluding with external forces and inciting subversion of state power.

"It is worth noting that the above two cases reflect a phenomenon: the public's national security awareness urgently needs to be changed, and the form of national security is becoming diversified, far beyond the traditional perception of'catching spies'. This is why now We must establish a comprehensive and three-dimensional view of overall national security."

The scholar said that in fact, some major countries in the world have already built and expanded a set of national security concepts that serve themselves around finance, the Internet, and even outer space.

Moreover, many countries in the world follow the principle of broader coverage in their specific practices involving national security issues. Especially when national interests are seriously threatened or when confrontations with external forces are fierce, many actions will be included in the scope of national security for scrutiny. , To prevent these actions from causing further harm.

"Therefore, for national security under the new situation, we must focus on'active defense' instead of simply'passive accountability'."

Among national security challenges, political security challenges rank first

National security agencies have disclosed more anti-espionage cases around April 15th, but the contents of the cases disclosed this year are mainly related to political security.

In fact, as early as April 15, 2014, the first meeting of the National Security Council of the Central Committee clearly proposed the establishment of political security, homeland security, military security, economic security, cultural security, social security, technological security, information security, ecological security, Resource security and nuclear security are equal to an integrated national security system.

Article 3 of Chapter 1 of the National Security Law of the People’s Republic of China states: National security work should adhere to the overall national security concept, take people’s security as the purpose, take political security as the foundation, take economic security as the foundation, and take military, cultural, and Social security is the guarantee, relying on the promotion of international security, safeguarding national security in all fields, building a national security system, and following the path of national security with Chinese characteristics.

"When you talk about national security, you often think of cases of foreign spies stealing our country’s military and economic intelligence, but now we see many cases where anti-China forces inside and outside of China are colluding. This shows that overseas countries are stepping up the promotion of the'color revolution' and harming them. my country’s political security attempts." Li Wei told the Global Times reporter, “In the national security challenges we are currently facing, political security challenges can be said to be the first.”

In order to enhance the national security awareness of the whole people, on July 1, 2015, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress passed Article 14 of Chapter I of the National Security Law of the People's Republic of China, which stipulates that April 15 is the National Security Education Day for all people each year.

In recent years, notable results have been achieved in the promotion of national security awareness among the people.

The Global Times learned from the national security agency that during the April 15 campaign in 2020, Zhang, a villager in Huichang County, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, discovered that his son Zhang may have engaged in illegal activities that endangered national security while working in Shantou, Guangdong. After the event, he persuaded and accompanied his son to surrender to the Ganzhou State Security Bureau on April 21.

Zhang Moumou voluntarily confessed: During his stay in Shantou in 2019, he met an overseas spy intelligence agency personnel through WeChat. After being exploited by the other party using part-time jobs as bait, he went to the port area of a military stationed in Shantou to conduct observations and records every day and photograph the ships in the port area The dynamic and static status of the account is sent to the other party via WeChat.

During this process, Zhang received nearly 30,000 yuan in spying funds provided by the other party.

Appraisal by the relevant departments, Zhang Moumou provided many pieces of information to the other party involving state secrets.

At present, the case has entered judicial proceedings.

In view of the circumstances of Zhang surrendering himself and actively cooperating with national security agencies in handling the case, punishment can be lightened, mitigated, or exempted in accordance with the Anti-espionage Law.

"Actually, the task of maintaining national security is not only done by the state. The people should also raise their awareness of maintaining national security. Maintaining national security is a people's war." Li Wei said.
