The phone is ringing hot at the health center in Särö and according to nurse Catharina Johansson, the calls have doubled in recent weeks.

Many of those who call are listed at health centers in Västra Götaland, but have difficulty finding time for vaccination at home.

- It is an increased load and a nurse basically only goes to take the covid calls.

Plus we have a hostess out in the waiting room to keep distance and to answer questions.

Those who call want to make an appointment for vaccination, but many also want to know what type of vaccine the health center has.

So far, 1,200 people from Västra Götaland have been vaccinated in Halland and as many as 2,800 people have booked an appointment.

Redistribution of doses

- We must not refuse anyone to book an appointment, but we also want to take care of those who have registered with us, says Catharina Johansson.

Karin Hesselgard, Head of Administration for Local Health Care in the Halland region.

A Hallänning who does not like that so many from other counties book vaccination times in Halland is Ingalill Andersson, who herself has had to wait a couple of weeks for a while.

- I did not join the first round of times because it was fully booked in one day.

I think you should get vaccinated in the county where you live.

A quarter of all times booked in Halland in recent days have been booked by people from other counties.

Of these, most of the bookings were made in northern Halland, such as at the health center in Särö.

This is stated by the Halland region for SVT Nyheter Väst.

- This poses some problems for us because we get vaccines according to our population.

We are in a dialogue with the Swedish Public Health Agency about a possible redistribution of vaccine doses, says Karin Hesselgard, head of administration for local health care in the Halland region.
