• USA Minneapolis declares curfew and deploys the National Guard for the death of another African-American man

  • George Floyd case The coroner assures in court that Floyd died due to the violence with which his arrest took place

Just as the private prosecution prepares to conclude its presentation of the arguments in the televised trial for the alleged murder of African American George Floyd at the hands of white police officer Dereck Chauvin, the city of Minneapolis, where the death took place, has exploded again in a wave of racial tension.

Once again, the cause is the death of an African American at the hands of the police.

The victim's name was Daunte Wright, he was 26 years old, and he died on Sunday when police officer Kim Potter shot him from half a meter away.

The fact that Wright's death took place about 15 kilometers from where the Chauvin trial is taking place has added more

symbolism to the tragedy

, and has reinforced the thesis of those who say that the American police - that they do not depend on the state, but of the cities, and which is heavily controlled by the professional unions - has an undeniable propensity to exaggerate in the use of force.

For now, Potter has been relieved of his duties pending an official investigation.

The authorities' explanation is that the agent

mistook the stun gun for the real one,

so that when she pulled the trigger she did not want to kill Wright, but only to give him an electric shock that left him paralyzed and prevented him from fleeing in his vehicle.

The camera that the agent wore on her uniform seems to corroborate this assertion as, after shooting, Potter yells in alarm "Shit, I shot him!"

After being shot, Wright, who was inside the car, flees.

Soon after, his vehicle crashed.

The official cause of death is "murder",

since the coroner has determined that what caused his death was the bullet.

The controversy, evidently, has not served much to calm the spirits in a city, Minneapolis, that lives in a

state of tension

after the death of Floyd, also recorded on video, eleven months ago.

So the city has experienced two nights of tension, especially the one on Monday, between protesters and forces of order.

The National Guard, which is deployed in the city to prevent possible incidents in the Floyd death trial, has not intervened so far.

Threats to a Black Army Officer

Above, to further stoke racial tension, another incident has transpired, also recorded on video, this time in the state of Virginia, in which it is seen how the police shoot pepper spray, wife,

threaten to execute

and to "destroy your career "to a

black and Hispanic Army officer

for a traffic incident.

The event took place on December 5 when two officers, Daniel Corcker and Joe Gutierrez, stopped Lieutenant and war veteran Caron Nazario, who was traveling wearing his Armed Forces officer uniform in his vehicle wearing his officer's uniform. the Armed Forces, which had a video camera installed.

When the police officers stopped him, Nazario took longer than necessary to stop.

However, this attitude does not seem to justify his treatment by the agents, who literally confront him as if he were a dangerous madman.

Nothing is further from reality.

If, in the cases of George Floyd or Daunte Wright, resistance to authority can be wielded, at least as a mitigating factor, in Nazario's it is clear that the military

at no time offers the slightest resistance.

What's more: their attitude is the definition of calm and tranquility, just the opposite of that of the agents.
