Potsdam (dpa / bb) - In Brandenburg, the number of corona infections has skyrocketed again.
Within one day, health officials reported 569 new confirmed cases on Wednesday.
On Tuesday there were 179 new infections, on Monday 318. The number of infections per 100,000 inhabitants within one week rose significantly to 143.6 after 128 on Tuesday, as the Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday.
Three districts are above the 200 mark.
Corona focus is the Elbe-Elster district with 249.4, followed by the Spree-Neisse district with 226.9 and Oder-Spree with a value of 208.1.
The 100 mark is currently only below the state capital Potsdam with a value of 86.5 and the Potsdam-Mittelmark district with 98.8.
The so-called Corona emergency brake is automatically terminated there because there were fewer than 100 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in one week for three days in a row in the past week.
This means that one household and another household, but no more than five people, may meet in the open air;
Children up to 14 years are excluded.

In most counties and urban districts, however, the “emergency brake” applies.
If the value of new infections per 100,000 population is over 100 for three consecutive days in a week, the March easing must be reversed.
This applies for at least two weeks.
554 patients are currently in hospital in Brandenburg due to Covid-19 disease, 146 of them are in intensive care, of which 125 have to be ventilated.
The number of deaths related to Covid disease increased by 13.
