Tübingen (dpa / lsw) - Tübingen wants to extend the model test for more openings in corona times as a result of numerous tests.

The city proposes a clear termination criterion: If the seven-day incidence in the city rises above 125 for three days, the model should be ended and the federal emergency brake should apply, according to an application signed by Mayor Boris Palmer (Greens).

The fact that the number is higher than the nationwide valid 100 mark is justified by the numerous tests in the university town.

The "illumination of the dark field" corresponds to an increase in the measured incidence of 25 percent.

The model test was last extended until April 18.

The state government has to decide on this.

First the “Reutlinger General-Anzeiger” (Wednesday) reported on the application.

Tübingen had made headlines nationwide with the Corona model project "Open with Security".

Since March 16, people in Tübingen have been able to have themselves tested free of charge at several stations - with the confirmation of the results, the day tickets, they can then go to shops, the hairdresser or even to theaters and museums.

The city saw the success of the attempt, however, increasingly jeopardized by a growing number of day visitors and criticism was loud.

Even in the event of an extension, the issue of day tickets should remain limited to residents and employees in the Tübingen district, according to the application.

In an interim report, the city draws a positive interim conclusion of the pilot project.

"The only major gap concerns contact tracking, which is done purely manually."

According to the city, the infection process is under control.

From March 18 to April 1, the number of infections in Tübingen rose sharply, and the incidence briefly exceeded 100. "According to the findings of the accompanying scientific research, however, there is no indication that infections caused by openings as part of the model experiment, it was the cause », it said.
