April 13, 2021 The Swiss Agricultural Research Center Agroscope is sending 2,000 pairs of white cotton underwear to participating farmers and gardeners. The aim of the project is to study the decomposition of matter in the soil.

Volunteers, after receiving undergarments, will have to bury them in the agricultural land, periodically digging them up and then photographing them and returning them to Agroscope. The project is entitled “The proof is in the underwear”. The more taken the composition process takes place, the more solid the evidence of the presence of numerous microorganisms and bacteria in the soil, and the more fertile the soil.
