Offenbach (dpa / lnw) - After a cheerful start to Wednesday, the people in North Rhine-Westphalia have to be prepared for short showers.

It can also snow in the mountains, as the German Weather Service (DWD) announced on Wednesday morning in Offenbach.

Even short thunderstorms with sleet are not excluded.

The maximum temperatures are between seven degrees in East Westphalia and ten degrees on the Rhine, and three degrees on the Kahler Asten.

In the night of Thursday the rain subsides and it clears up increasingly.

It can snow a little in the Eifel.

In places it gets foggy and slippery with lows between minus one degree on the Rhine and down to minus seven degrees in the valleys of the mountains.

On Thursday it can show some isolated showers again, especially in East Westphalia.

The maximum temperatures are between seven and eleven degrees, at high altitudes around five degrees.
