Frankfurt / Main (AP) - The midfielder Dominik Kohr, who is currently on loan to FSV Mainz 05, can well imagine a return to league rivals Eintracht Frankfurt.

“I'll be on loan until the summer and then I'll be back as a Eintracht Frankfurt player.

It wasn't for nothing that I signed a long-term contract at the time, ”Kohr told Sport Bild (Wednesday).

The 27-year-old moved on loan from the Main to the Rhine in the winter because he hardly played in defensive midfield in Frankfurt behind Makoto Hasebe, Sebastian Rode and Djibril Sow.

Kohr has a contract in Frankfurt until 2024 and is on loan to the Mainz team until the end of the season.

Since Kohr and club colleague Danny da Costa joined the 05ers, things have been looking up.

"It was important that the team was already changing," said Kohr.

Around the turn of the year, the Mainz team not only introduced Bo Svensson as the new coach, but also brought back their old friends Christian Heidel as sports director and Martin Schmidt as sports director.
