Israel has decided to allow foreign tourists who have been vaccinated against Corona 19 to enter the country starting next month.

Israeli Ministry of Health and Ministry of Tourism issued a joint statement saying that from May 23, vaccinated foreign tourists will resume entry.

In addition, the Israeli authorities say that the country will only allow some group tourists to enter the country, but will open the border to individual tourists in the future.

However, all foreign tourists entering the country are required to be tested for COVID-19 before boarding the aircraft and submit the results of a serological test proving that they have been vaccinated upon arrival.

Health Minister Yuly Edelstein said, "As the economy is open, it is time to reopen tourism carefully and deliberately."

The Israeli move appears to be based on the judgment that the vaccination situation in the country is good enough to reapply foreign tourists.

Israel, which started vaccination in December of last year, has so far completed the second vaccination of 5 million out of 9.3 million people.

Israel resumed economic activity from last month on the back of overwhelming vaccination rates, but tourism has been restricted to its own citizens.
