On Tuesday, Prime Minister Stefan Löfven and Minister for Gender Equality Märta Stenevi (MP) held a digital tour among municipal health care staff in Sweden.

From Kronoberg, employees from Väckelsång, Ljungby and Alvesta participated.

One of them, Ann-Sofie Nilsson, has been working as a care assistant in Väckelsång for many years.

- I enjoy my job very much and the meetings you have with the elderly and their life stories that you have been told by them give a lot, says Ann-Sofie Nilsson.

"More attractive schedules"

On suggestions for improvements, she had several points.

- To get elderly care better, we must have attractive schedules.

Increase the basic staff from the beginning because then you get less stress and feel even better at work, she says to Stefan Löfven during the press conference.

During the digital tour of the country, opinions were also expressed about tight schedules, that the status of the profession must be raised, more staffing and the feeling of not being enough.

- This job we have is among the most important we have.

In the final stages of life, I have sat for many nights holding hands and also comforting relatives, says Ann-Sofie Nilsson.

"Not enough"

Emelie Sonesson has been working since last summer at a special accommodation in Ljungby.

- The best thing is the meeting with all the people and the appreciation you get.

The problem is that you are not enough, when they ask you to sit down with them but you have to refuse because you do not have time, that is the hardest thing, I think, says Emelie Sonesson.

In the clip below, Stefan Löfven answers what he should do to improve the work situation for the care staff.
