Hanover (dpa) - The dog trainer Jutta Gaßmann from Bad Münder and her little black American cocker spaniel Gil can call themselves world record holders.

This has been confirmed by the record institute for Germany in Hamburg.

The overzealous Gil jumped through a tire in the record attempt at the end of March on the Expo grounds in Hanover.

When examining the video evidence, the institute found that only 43 jumps fell within the specified time of 60 seconds.

But that too was well above the at least 20 jumps that were required for a record performance in this newly invented discipline.

43 jumps were recognized as a world record, and Gaßmann received a corresponding certificate.

According to managing director Olaf Kuchenbecker, the record institute for Germany is one of around 20 companies worldwide that support, evaluate and recognize bizarre record attempts.

The companies research each other in their lists whether there have been comparable services before.
