The country's main federal public health agencies want to investigate six cases of people who developed severe cases of blood clots after receiving the vaccine in the country.

Johnson & Johnson "is studying these cases with European health authorities," the group said in a message to AFP.

The vaccine break will in any case "not have a significant impact" on the American vaccination campaign, according to the White House.
