Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - Saxony-Anhalt wants to reduce bureaucracy for medium-sized companies.

"Even before the enactment of legal and administrative regulations in Saxony-Anhalt, their effects on the medium-sized economy should be examined," said the Ministry of Economics on Wednesday.

To this end, the ministry developed a so-called test for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The aim is to check whether a planned regulation is relevant to SMEs, is necessary in all its components and can be implemented with reasonable effort, or whether there are alternatives that are more SME-friendly, explained a spokesman for the ministry.

«The middle class is the foundation of our economy.

More than 99 percent of all companies in Saxony-Anhalt have fewer than 250 employees, ”said Economics Minister Armin Willingmann (SPD).

Therefore, SME-friendliness should be emphasized more in legislation and administration.

"We want to help entrepreneurs to acquire more orders and develop business areas again and to have fewer forms and reports to fill out."
