India

has updated its daily record of coronavirus cases with 184,372 infections in the last 24 hours. These are the new data reported by the Ministry of Health, which bring the total to 13.87 million infections. There are 1,027 new deaths, bringing the total to 172,085. With these numbers, India has ousted Brazil from the second most affected country by the pandemic after the USA. The surge in recent weeks has prompted the government to speed up the approval of vaccines that have already received emergency clearance abroad. Yesterday New Delhi gave the green light to the Russian Sputnik V serum, of which a local production will be started.

The

Mexico

has recorded 592 new deaths due to the pandemic covid-19 in the last 24 hours to reach a total of 210,294 deaths. This was announced by the Ministry of Health. Health authorities also counted 4,293 new infections in their daily technical report on the incidence of the coronavirus, for a total of 2,286,133 confirmed cases. With these data, Mexico is the third country in the world with the highest number of deaths, behind the United States and Brazil, and the fourteenth in the number of infections, according to Johns Hopkins University. However, the actual figures would be higher, as the same government admitted in late March that the country has experienced an excess of mortality of nearly 300,000 people since the start of the pandemic.

The

Brazil

recorded 3,808 deaths covid-19 in the last 24 hours (358,425 since the beginning of the pandemic, a little over a year ago), writes the Agi. In its daily balance, the Ministry of Health reported 82,186 new coronavirus infections, with which the total toll of the infected rose to 13,599,994, at a time when the country is facing the worst phase of the pandemic. Brazil is the second country with the highest number of deaths and confirmed cases of the disease, only behind the United States, although it is currently the place on the planet where most people die from covid-19, with an average that exceeds 3,000 deaths a day.

There are 21,693 new Coronavirus infections registered in

Germany

in the last 24 hours. In giving the news, the Robert Koch Institut underlines that this is more than double the infections recorded a week ago, when the daily toll was about 10 thousand new infections and 298 deaths. Today the new deaths caused by Covid-19 were 342. The seven-day incidence recorded at the national level thus rises to 153.2. The weekly rate is crucial for the adoption of restrictive measures, which the German government yesterday decided to standardize throughout the territory without leaving the possibility to the regions to decide. The measures - including the curfew between 9 pm and 5 am - will be triggered in the areas most exposed to the achievement of the incidence rate of 100.
