With these numbers, India has ousted Brazil from the second most affected country by the pandemic after the USA. The surge in recent weeks has prompted the government to speed up the approval of vaccines that have already received emergency clearance abroad. Yesterday New Delhi gave the green light to the Russian Sputnik V serum, of which a local production will be started.
