Berlin / Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - In Saxony-Anhalt, new corona infections have risen further.

544 new infections were registered nationwide within 24 hours, according to the figures from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) on Wednesday (as of 3:09 a.m.).

The incidence, the number of cases per 100,000 population within seven consecutive days, rose to 182.7 on Wednesday.

The previous day the value was 173.9.

The nationwide seven-day incidence on Wednesday, according to the RKI, was 153.2.

After the neighboring states of Thuringia (254) and Saxony (227.8), Saxony-Anhalt has the highest number of infections nationwide.
