Anne Milgram's first battle will be the fight against the opioid epidemic, a real plague in the United States that has worsened during the pandemic.

During his presidential campaign, Joe Biden had promised that the DEA would identify those responsible for this crisis and protect the population victims of these drugs.

He had sharply criticized pharmaceutical companies for flooding the country with these extremely addictive painkillers.

Among these, Fentanyl, at the heart of international trafficking that has contributed to increasing overdoses and deaths in the country.

Anne Milgram will therefore also have to act against international networks, especially as patients who can no longer legally obtain opioids are turning to the black market.

If it sticks to the policy it has pursued in the past, it will attack the sponsors of trafficking rather than arresting small sellers or users.

Anne Milgram is also a strong advocate for the evolution of the penal system.

She is particularly known for reforming the Camden Police Force in New Jersey, often cited as an example.
