President Moon Jae-in met with Japanese Ambassador Koichi Aiboshi today (14th) to convey concerns from the Korean government and the public over the Japanese government's decision to release contaminated water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant.

Blue House spokesman Kang Min-seok said in a briefing room at the Blue House on the same day, "In a conversation that followed after the ceremony of the Japanese ambassador to Korea, President Moon said that Japan's decision to dispose of contaminated water from nuclear power plants is geographically closest to Korea, and that Korea, which shares the sea, is very concerned." Delivered.

President Moon said to Ambassador Koichi Aibosi, saying, "I would like to understand these concerns of the Korean government and the people," he said, "I hope you will convey this to my home country." It is extremely unusual.

Earlier, at an internal meeting of the Blue House, President Moon instructed the International Maritime Law Court to actively consider a proposal to file a lawsuit, including interim measures, in relation to Japan's decision to discharge contaminated water from nuclear power plants.
