Hanover (dpa / lni) - The number of corona patients who have to be treated in the intensive care unit in Lower Saxony is increasing.

On Tuesday there were 307 adults and two children after 297 intensive care patients the day before, as the Ministry of Health announced in Hanover.

211 adults and one child have to be artificially ventilated, a total of 1098 corona patients were in the country's clinics, six fewer than the day before.

The number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days was the national average at 109.9 after 106.6 the previous day.

615 new cases of infection and 29 more deaths were recorded on Tuesday.

The R value, which indicates the average number of people infected by an infected person, was 1.07 on Tuesday, unchanged from the previous day.

In 24 of the 45 districts and large cities, the seven-day incidence was over 100, and stricter corona restrictions apply here.
