Berlin (AP) - Captain Christopher Trimmel from 1. FC Union Berlin had his broken nasal bone fixed under general anesthesia on Tuesday.

The Austrian was missing from the Bundesliga club because of the intervention in the Charité during training.

On Saturday (3.30 p.m. / Sky) in the home game against VfB Stuttgart, the national player should still play again.

On Monday, he had a face mask made for protection.

Trimmel suffered the injury in the league game at Bayern Munich (1: 1) in the first half in a duel with Kingsley Coman.

Nevertheless, he played along until the end.

The veteran, who broke his nose for the fourth time, has experience as a mask man.

In November and December 2014 he also played for Union with a carbon cover.

In addition to Trimmel, the offensive players Taiwo Awoniyi (thigh injury), Sheraldo Becker (ankle), Anthony Ujah (knee) and Leon Dajaku (ankle ligament injury) were also absent from the Unioner's training session.

Midfielder Robert Andrich completed a training session in the cabin due to individual load control.

But nothing should stand in the way of its commitment.
