Püttelkow (dpa / mv) - After a fire in Püttelkow (Ludwigslust-Parchim), the police are looking for the arsonists.

As a police spokesman said on Tuesday, strangers had set fire to a large pile of tires that was next to a former cattle shed during the night.

The flames spread to the large stable, which is now used as a shelter for vehicles.

Only a very quick response from the fire brigade prevented the building from being completely hit by the fire.

At the time the fire broke out, witnesses saw two suspects near the stables who are said to have driven away in a dark car.

Further details on the amount of damage and the cause of the fire are currently not known.

In agriculture, tires are usually stored in large quantities in order to weigh down tarpaulins in large feed silos against the wind.

When these burn, there is tremendous heat and black smoke.
