The Paris Bourse evolved in small form Tuesday (+ 0.33%), lacking in spirit pending the publication of US inflation figures during the day and the first quarterly results of companies.

At 12:25, the CAC 40 index took 20.57 points to 6,182.25 points.

Monday, the Parisian odds ended slightly down (-0.13%), after reaching up to 6,185.02 points, a new high in session since October 2000.

"Investors should remain cautious pending the publication of inflation figures in March in the United States," said Franklin Pichard, CEO of Kiplink.

In lack of catalysts since last week, the markets could see big variations in the afternoon with the publication of the US consumer price index, inflation being the main worry for investments in this period of recovery economic.

The boss of the Federal Reserve (Fed) and the economic advisers of the White House want to be reassuring: prices will increase at first but no worries in the long term to be had.

Also on the menu for the week, the first publications of company results, with the luxury giant LVMH which will open the ball after the close of the Parisian market.

"With the results of the first quarter of the American banks this week, the markets will finally be able to measure where are the companies compared to the beginning of the crisis", adds Franklin Pichard.

In France, the loss of activity of the economy compared to before the health crisis was 4% in March and will be 7% in April.

The French economy is suffering much less from the Covid-19 crisis than a year ago despite new health restrictions, estimated the Banque de France, which does not plan to review its 2021 growth forecast, for now 5.5%.

The United Kingdom, for its part, experienced a slight rebound of 0.4% of its gross domestic product (GDP) in February despite the containment.

While in Germany investor morale fell in April, after four months of rising, as the country braces for further health restrictions.

The reorganization of EDF presented

The French state has, for the first time, detailed its plan to reorganize EDF (+ 1.36% to 12.30 euros) in a document sent to the unions of the group.

It provides for a division of the group between a parent company and two subsidiaries.

Capital increase at Air France-KLM

The airline's share lost 1.96% to 5.21 euros following the launch of a capital increase of 988 million euros through the issuance of new shares, as part of the aid plan granted by the French state.

Suez sells to Veolia

The titles Suez (-0.08% to 19.85 euros) and Veolia (-1.01% to 24.50 euros) fell after their jump the day before.

The operation to buy Suez by Veolia is "accelerated" by the agreement reached Monday between the two large French groups of water and waste treatment, which will close the takeover "at the beginning of the autumn ", according to Veolia CEO Antoine Frérot.

Orange swallows a Belgian subsidiary

Orange shares lost 1.53% to 10.19 euros after announcing the launch of its takeover bid on April 8 on the 47% stake in the capital of its Belgian subsidiary that it does not yet own.

Publicis acclaimed

At 79, Maurice Lévy wishes to renew his mandate as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Publicis (+ 1.88% to 52.00 euros) at his next general meeting.
