The new version of the U.S. "Guidelines for Exchanges with Taiwan" relaxes restrictions on U.S.-Taiwan exchanges and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council responds

　　Chinanews, April 13th. Recently, the US State Department issued the so-called new version of the "Guidelines for Exchanges with Taiwan," which eased restrictions on US-Taiwan exchanges.

The spokesperson of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, Ma Xiaoguang, said on the 13th that we firmly oppose the development of any form of official relations between the United States and Taiwan.

　　Ma Xiaoguang said that abide by the one-China principle and the three Sino-US joint communiqués is a serious commitment made by the US government to China.

We urge the US to honor its commitments with concrete actions, refrain from sending false signals to "Taiwan independence" forces, and take concrete actions to maintain peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.
