The New York police said on the 12th that a car hijacking occurred in Brooklyn over the past weekend and the victim was the cousin of Liu Wenjian, a Chinese New York police officer who had died on the job.

The police said that one of the men took out a pistol, snatched Liu Wenjian’s cousin’s wallet and keys, and then robbed his car.
But the GPS tracker of the car directly led the police to find the location of the car.

The police are still searching for these robbers. They fled in a sedan with a temporary license plate from New Jersey.

On December 20, 2014, when 32-year-old Liu Wenjian and his colleague Ramos were on duty in front of the government building on Myrtle Avenue and Tompkins Avenue in Brooklyn, they were attacked and killed by gunmen.
Liu Wenjian was the only child in the family. He was newly married for less than three months when he was killed. The doctor who rescued him obtained his sperm with the consent of his family. His widow Chen Peixia chose artificial insemination and gave birth to a daughter for Liu's family.
