Lübeck (dpa / lno) - The landlords of holiday homes in Lübeck's old town are continuing to fight against the city's ban on renting out their “gangways” to tourists.
The representatives of the vacation rental and holiday home landlords in Lübeck and Travemünde have now filed a lawsuit with the administrative court in Schleswig in the main proceedings.
The chairman, Karl-Heinz Brenner, said that it could not be that holiday apartments should suddenly be banned, which have often provided the city with happy tourists for decades.
The 40 or so house owners united in the interest group are demanding that their "gangways" be protected.
According to Brenners, they own around 120 holiday homes and holiday apartments in Lübeck's old town.
The so-called gang stalls, with an average size of 30 to 40 square meters, are very popular with tourists as holiday accommodations.
In order to curb holiday letting in view of the shortage of living space that also prevailed in Lübeck, the Hanseatic City of Lübeck had banned home owners from renting their houses to tourists from October 1, 2019.
Some owners had sued against this.

However, they failed in September 2020 with an urgent application against the city's ban on use.
Now they hope to be right in the main proceedings, said Brenner on Monday.
