4-M Justice removes Toni Cantó and Agustín Conde from the PP list because they were not registered in the current electoral roll

The Constitutional Court has agreed this Tuesday to admit to processing the appeal for protection presented by the Popular Party against the sentence that excludes the candidates Toni Cantó and Agustín Conde from the lists for the 4-M elections.
The magistrates of the First Chamber have issued an order in which they highlight the "special constitutional significance because the appeal raises a problem or affects a facet of a fundamental right on which there is no doctrine of this court" at the time of admitting it for processing.
The contentious-administrative judge Number 5 of Madrid revoked the initial approval that the
Provincial Electoral Board
had given to the candidacy of both,
considering that only those who are included "in the current electoral roll can be a candidate."
In this case, the one corresponding to January 1, 2021, a date on which neither Cantó nor Conde were registered in Madrid nor did they meet the requirements to be registered.
Instead, the PP defends that these requirements must be met "at the time of submitting the candidacy."
