Potsdam (dpa / bb) - In Brandenburg, the number of new infections with the coronavirus has risen further within seven days per 100,000 inhabitants.

According to the Ministry of Health in Potsdam on Tuesday, the seven-day incidence increased to 128;

on Monday the value was 125. A week ago, 128 infections per 100,000 inhabitants were determined.

The front runner here is the Spree-Neisse district with 217.2 (Monday: 208.4).

The districts of Elbe-Elster (214.1) and Oder-Spree (208.3) are also above the 200 mark.

The state capital Potsdam is currently below the 100 mark with the lowest value of 69.9 and the districts of Potsdam-Mittelmark (89.1), Barnim (95), Dahme-Spreewald (96.6) and Uckermark (96.7) .

The so-called Corona emergency brake is automatically terminated there because there were fewer than 100 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in one week for three days in a row in the past week.

This means that one household and another household, but no more than five people, may meet in the open air;

Children up to 14 years are excluded.

In most counties and urban districts, however, the “emergency brake” applies.

If the value of new infections per 100,000 population is over 100 for three consecutive days in a week, the March easing must be reversed.

This applies for at least two weeks.

Within one day, 179 new infections were reported nationwide on Tuesday;

on Monday it was 318 and a week ago 111.

547 people were most recently in hospital with Covid 19 disease, 138 of them are receiving intensive care.

3400 people have so far died in Brandenburg in connection with Covid-19.
