Bremerhaven (dpa / lni) - Ice hockey center forward Cory Quirk leaves the Fishtown Pinguins from private greens.
"An urgent and urgent personal matter that cannot be postponed makes it essential that Cory returns to the USA tomorrow after playing 251 games for the Fischtown Pinguins," said the club from the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) on Tuesday.
The 34-year-old Quirk said according to the announcement: "I am so sorry that I have to
leave
" my sporting family "so
shortly before the playoffs, but the circumstances in my private sphere do not allow any other decision."
Neither the penguins nor the Quirk commented on the exact reasons.
