Munich (dpa / lby) - Two parents' associations have called for corona tests for students in classrooms to be stopped.

"Tests should be carried out independently before starting the way to school at home or externally by trained staff in front of the school," says an open letter from the State Parents 'Association of Bavarian Real Schools and the Bavarian Parents' Association to Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU).

"Classrooms are not test centers."

Since Monday, a corona test has been mandatory in the Free State for participation in lessons in the classrooms.

All pupils who are in the school buildings - be it in classroom lessons, in alternating models or in emergency care - will in future have to do a self-test twice a week in the school or present a current negative PCR or rapid test.

With an incidence of over 100, this may be even more common, depending on the teaching model.

The parents' associations argued that infection should be avoided on the way to school.

In addition, teachers must be protected “and not be misused as medical staff”.
