Waren (dpa / mv) - The traditional Müritz Sail in Waren will also be canceled for the time being in 2021.
As Waren's Mayor Norbert Möller (SPD) said on Tuesday, the current corona pandemic development does not allow a Sail on the Ascension weekend in mid-May.
In coordination with the organizers, two weekends were reserved at the end of June and the beginning of September, when the maritime folk festival around the city harbor could take place on a smaller scale.
However, this also depends on the further course of the infection situation.
The seven-day incidence in the Mecklenburg Lake District is currently more than 170 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants.
With up to 60,000 visitors, the Müritz-Sail is the largest maritime leisure event on the Mecklenburg Lake District.
In 2020, the alternative dates were also canceled.
