Jon about his friend's death: "It was easier to get drugs at home than outside"

Melvin Sonne's death in February takes childhood friend Jon Bertilsson hard.

They had been accompanied in school from sixth grade onwards.

Both chose the electricity program and commuted to Vilhelmina.

Drug addiction escalated for Melvin and he had to interrupt his schooling.

During his last time, he completed high school in Umeå, but a relapse meant that he had to go to a treatment home again, a trip that became his last.

- Vilhelmina is as Vilhelmina is, it is a drug society, you can not do much about it, says Jon Bertilsson resigned.

"He should get better help"

Jon Bertilsson, who himself studies in Umeå, kept in touch with his friend but saw that Melvin, despite efforts, did not receive sufficient help to get out of the addiction.

- He knew he could talk to me, that I was always there.

But he was stuck in his addiction, he should have received better help.

The death has been reported to IVO (the Swedish Health and Care Inspectorate) and is being investigated internally by the treatment home, which does not want to comment at present.
