Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) - Hesse's employers continue to strictly reject the federal government's obligation to offer corona tests in companies.

The federal government is tightening its declaration of war on the economy, said the chief executive of the Association of Hessian Business Associations (VhU), Dirk Pollert, on Tuesday in Frankfurt.

The workplaces are already safe places, said the association official, according to a statement.

"The Hessian economy has implemented extensive hygiene concepts, systematically made occupational safety standards pandemic-proof, enables work in the home office where it makes sense and is increasingly offering its own employees test offers."

One should stick to the voluntary test offers.

In the event of an obligation to offer, the federal government must provide sufficient material free of charge, demanded Pollert.

There is no mention of that in the cabinet draft.

If the companies had to procure tests themselves, while at the same time there was no obligation to test for the employees, considerable costs would arise.
