“Deutsche Umwelthilfe has filed a lawsuit today against the accelerated construction of Nord Stream 2.

The suit, filed with the Hamburg Administrative Court, is directed against the construction work permit, which was issued earlier ... by the Federal Office for Shipping and Hydrography (BSH), ”the statement reads.

According to RIA Novosti, the Hamburg Administrative Court has received a claim from the German Environmental Protection Organization (DUH), and the review process has begun.

According to the representative of the court, there is still no exact information on the process, including on the possible time frame for making a decision on the merits of the claim.

Earlier, Sergei Zheleznyak, a member of the State Duma Foreign Affairs Committee, commented on the situation around Nord Stream 2, including the US position on the gas pipeline. In an interview with FAN, he expressed the opinion that the United States has a chance not to drive bilateral relations into an impasse if Washington is willing to engage in meaningful and constructive dialogue.
