Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - Despite the corona pandemic, the police in North Rhine-Westphalia launched 92 raids against clan crime this year.

However, the number of objects searched has fallen sharply: by the end of April, only six shisha bars had been checked, according to a report by the Interior Ministry to the state parliament.

In 2019, according to the ministry, 1,892 objects were checked, in 2020 still 1221, this year only 189 so far. Above all, the number of searched shisha bars fell sharply: in 2019, according to the report to the Interior Committee, there were 828, in 2020 it was still 304 - this year said six.

The interior ministry emphasized that the reason was closed locations and contact restrictions.

Nevertheless, 195 criminal charges, 653 administrative offense reports and 496 warning money were imposed.
