Prosecuted for attack on state security, complicity in murder and concealment of corpses, the former president will have to appear in court for a trial.

According to the court ruling, there are sufficient charges against the former leader for the concealment of corpses and the court maintains the international arrest warrant against him.

Mandate also maintained for Hyacinthe Kafando, prosecuted for assassination and attack on state security.

He is the alleged leader of the commando which carried out

the assassination of Captain Thomas Sankara

and his companions.

Also accused in this case, General Gilbert Diendéré, close to Blaise Compaoré.

In this case, fourteen people are sent to justice.

At the same time, the military court ordered the detention of all those whose charges have been confirmed, although no date has been set for the trial.

The arrest warrants are therefore maintained against those who are abroad.

The defense team of General Gilbert Dienderé, detained today in the context of another case, had raised the exception of limitation.

Given that the case had not undergone judicial treatment for decades, it should be considered time-barred, according to these lawyers who referred to the texts in force.

An exception rejected by the court.

However, there will be no trial for five other people who were named in the case, but who died.

Among them are Nacoulma Wampasga, Colonel-Major Alain Laurent Bonkian, Tasseré Dianda and Salam Yerbanga.
