Dresden (dpa / sn) - The Free State wants to support top and club sport with advertising cooperations in the course of its campaign “So geht sächsisch”.

According to a cabinet decision on Tuesday, an additional 2.5 million euros from the Corona Management Fund are to be made available, as the State Chancellery in Dresden announced.

The state parliament still has to agree to this.

"Whether top or popular sport: Sport in the community creates cohesion and connects," said Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer (CDU) according to the announcement.

It is about strengthening this sense of togetherness, especially in difficult times, and giving courage.

The clubs and organizers challenged by restrictions in gaming and loss of income should be ambassadors for Saxony and at the same time the sporting work should be advertised on the Free State's portal.

The selection takes place in the course of a competition that is initiated together with the state sports association.
