As noted, this decision was made after the European Medicines Agency (EMA) concluded that blood clots should be included in the list of rare side effects of the vaccine.

In addition, the NIAC has discouraged a second dose of the drug for people who experience unusual blood clots after the first injection.

Earlier, Acting Minister of Health Hugo de Jonge said that the Netherlands will not renew the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine for people under 60, they will receive a different drug.
