But what the police shot was a pistol, and

driver, who was running away after being shot, crashed into another car within a few blocks and died on the spot.
The deceased driver was Dunt Wright, a 20-year-old black man.

police at the Brooklyn Center in Minnesota, where the incident took place, suspended the officers and initiated an investigation.

But protesters protesting the deaths of black people protested overnight, and some looted nearby stores.
Tear gas was mobilized to suppress the protests, the National Guard was put in, and even a curfew was imposed at night.
