12 April 2021 An order of precautionary custody in prison for the broker Pierluigi Torzi and interdicting measure of the prohibition to practice the profession of accountant or management offices of companies for 6 months for Giacomo Capizzi, Alfredo Camalò and Matteo Del Sette, all under investigation, at various title, for issuing and annotating invoices for non-existent operations.

This was decided by the investigating judge of the court of Rome who entrusted the execution of the restrictive measures to the military of the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Rome.

The order ordered by the investigating judge Corrado Cappiello against Gianluigi Torzi for the crime of false invoicing has not yet been carried out by the Guardia di Finanza because the broker is located in London.

The broker Torzi, for whom the arrest was ordered, is at the center of a round of false billing.

These events are not connected - it is emphasized - to the London real estate operation involving the Vatican.

Torzi is in fact the financial broker already involved in the affair of the sale of the property at no.

60 of Sloane Avenue in London, for which he is under investigation by the Vatican Judicial Authority, which accused him of an illegal profit of 15 million euros.

On the basis of the investigations delegated by the public prosecutor of Rome to the specialists of the Economic-Financial Police Unit of Rome, following the request for judicial assistance formulated by the Promoter of Justice of the Vatican City State, it was reconstructed as part of this sum, reclaimed to two English companies of the entrepreneur from Molise, was employed to purchase shares of companies listed on the Italian stock exchange - for an amount of over 4.5 million euros, which allowed him, after a few months, to make a profit of over 750,000 euros - and to pay off the debt of 670,000 euros of two other companies referable to the same.

From the elements acquired, a round of false invoicing was also ascertained - not connected to the London real estate transaction - carried out by Torzi, together with Capizzi and the reference accountants of the group of Italian and foreign companies attributable to the broker, Camalò and Del Sette, without any commercial justification and for the sole purpose of defrauding the tax authorities.

The

lawyer: "Disconcerting provision of the investigating judge"

"Reading the provision I was completely disconcerted".

So the lawyer Marco Franco, defender of Gianluigi Torzi, comments on the order of custody in prison signed by the investigating judge of Rome for the broker.

"It is the even weaker synthesis of the thesis of the Promoters of Vatican justice, already completely demolished by the English judge in the rogatory for the seizure".
