Sharjah Police launches a campaign to "avoid wrong parking" in conjunction with the month of Ramadan

The Sharjah Police General Command, represented by the Traffic and Patrols Department, launched this morning, Monday, April 12, 2021, a two-pronged awareness-raising traffic campaign (electronic and field) under the title "Avoiding a wrong parking" that extends until the middle of next May, and aims to enhance traffic safety at the level of the emirate, from During the spread of traffic awareness about the wrong behaviors committed by some vehicle drivers, including the wrong parking on the road, and the resulting obstruction to traffic, its negative impact on traffic movement and causing congestion on the roads, and this is an embodiment of the Sharjah Police vision consistent with the strategic objective of the Ministry of Interior Aiming to make roads safer.

The Director of Traffic and Patrols Department at Sharjah Police, Lt. Col. Muhammad Alai Al Naqbi, said: “The launch of the campaign coincides with the advent of the blessed month of Ramadan, as complaints increase during this period of wrongly parking vehicles on vital roads, especially at mosques, markets, commercial complexes, and near neighborhoods and residential areas. This campaign aims to enhance the awareness of vehicle drivers to avoid such wrong behavior, which negatively affects traffic and traffic, exposing the lives of others to the dangers of accidents, in addition to some vehicle drivers stopping their vehicles on the public sidewalk in a way that distorts the public view, indicating that the campaign also came Based on the study of the statistics index for the past year, as the number of wrongly parking violations reached 17,812, in addition to 12,927 violations of traffic obstruction.

Lieutenant Colonel Allai explained that the campaign is implemented on two parts, the first (electronic), through which awareness is spread to motorists through the awareness driving accounts on social media platforms and news sites in several languages ​​(Arabic, English, and Urdu), while the second part (field) will be carried out. The personnel involved in the campaign distribute warning triangles to drivers of idle vehicles on the road in order to prevent obstruction of traffic, and in a way that contributes to preventing accidents and deaths resulting from them.
