Hamburg (dpa / lno) - Hamburg has acquired a license to use the Luca system including the Luca app for tracking corona contacts.

However, it is still unclear when exactly the citizens can actually use the app in the Hanseatic city.

The Senate announced on Monday that the conditions are currently being created so that the app can also support the tracking of contacts with the Hamburg health authorities.

Among other things, this requires interfaces that have to be set up.

The Luca app was developed by hip-hop singer Smudo from the band Die Fantastischen Vier, other cultural workers, a Berlin start-up, the Hasso Plattner Institute and the Bundesdruckerei.

It is intended to make it easier to document contacts in restaurants and cultural institutions.

Instead of the conventional slips of paper and forms, the Luca app uses a QR code.
