He indicated that it is permissible to pay zakat in cash by purchasing meals and allocating them to needy individuals and needy families through the 100 million meals campaign aimed at feeding the hungry.
Accordingly, individuals and institutions who are willing to donate and do good from inside and outside the country may provide donations, alms and zakat funds in the "100 Million Meals" campaign aimed at providing food parcels and food supplies to prepare meals for the needy in the lower-income communities in 20 countries.
His Eminence called on charitable people, each according to his ability, to take the initiative and support the campaign launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and organized by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives in cooperation with the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation And the regional network of food banks, the World Food Program, and charitable and humanitarian institutions within the country and in the countries and societies covered by the "100 Million Meals" campaign.
