He indicated that it is permissible to pay zakat in cash by purchasing meals and allocating them to needy individuals and needy families through the 100 million meals campaign aimed at feeding the hungry.

Accordingly, individuals and institutions who are willing to donate and do good from inside and outside the country may provide donations, alms and zakat funds in the "100 Million Meals" campaign aimed at providing food parcels and food supplies to prepare meals for the needy in the lower-income communities in 20 countries.
