Djulö manor, Gröna kulle and Gamla vattentornet are three buildings that have been modeled for insects to have a safer home in central Katrineholm.

The three hotels are the first in a major investment in insect hotels where the goal is to give bees, which are important pollinators, greater opportunities to fulfill their crucial role in nature.

- We see that we need to help on the run, especially in our urban areas.

In today's situation, there is not as much space for our youngest friends and we quickly clean away, for example, piles of twigs where insects thrive, says Linda Aldebert, municipal ecologist in Katrineholm.

The scaled copies have been carpented together in the municipality's workshop, where people who are otherwise far from the labor market have been responsible for the creation.
