The research sections of the national gendarmerie of Bourges and Fort-de-France dismantled, at the beginning of April, drug trafficking between Martinique and Pays-de-la-Loire.

It all started on February 26, 2020. That day, a customs seizure of ten kilos of cocaine allows the gendarmerie to identify a trafficking network that operates between Martinique and Pays-de-la-Loire and the agglomeration Nantes, via Bourges.

On September 1, 2020, a national investigation unit is created.

Its name: "BACJ-COCAINE-18-972", bringing together the research sections of Bourge and Fort-de-France.

Five people in pre-trial detention

More than six months after the start of the investigation, on April 6, eight people were arrested in Martinique, Nantes and Bourges.

They are all placed in police custody.

During the searches carried out, the investigators seized "23.8 kg of cannabis resin, a bar of cocaine of 313 g, 4 vehicles, more than 7,500 euros in cash, an electric crimper with a stock of a hundred boxes new canned goods, a banknote counter, five long guns, eight handguns and thousands of ammunition as well as a culture chamber, ”according to a press release from the National Gendarmerie

 Seven of those arrested were charged on Friday.

Five of them were taken into custody, and two others under judicial supervision.
