Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) - The Belgian Christophe Acht is the new coach of the German volleyball cup winner United Volleys Frankfurt.

As the Hessian Bundesliga team announced on Monday, the previous head coach Juan Manuel Serramalera will switch to the Swiss Champions League participant Volley Amriswil in the summer.

Eighth comes to the new season of Frankfurt's final opponent in the cup final, the Netzhoppers from Königs Wusterhausen.

The 42-year-old previously trained the league competitor TV Rottenburg, who withdrew from Bundesliga play last year.

“Christophe is a coach with a clear concept and the aim of making his players and the club as a whole better.

That convinced me right from the first exchange, ”said the new Volleys partner Alexander Korosek.

Eighth won the European League in 2013 with the Belgian national team.

«I'm looking forward to my new role and think that I can make a difference here.

The city and the club have huge potential and we can build on last season's squad very well, ”he said.

According to the club, the contract was concluded for one year with an option for another.
