Halle (AP) - singer Alice Merton ("No Roots") has criticized the pressure of the beauty industry on women.
No woman needs make-up, said the 27-year-old in an interview with the radio station MDR Jump.
«Why do we have to wear makeup to feel pretty?
Why do we have to wear fake eyelashes?
I just think it's totally unfair that this make-up industry is telling us that we're so prettier. "
Men don't have this pressure, Merton said, according to a statement.
She wants to do without make-up in the coming weeks.
Merton recently released her new single "Vertigo".
