Berlin (dpa) - President Dirk Zingler sees possible changes in service providers of 1. FC Union Berlin after this season "as part of the development step" of the Bundesliga club from Köpenick.

"Economically, we are not yet in a position to keep all the players who have reached a good level," said Zingler in an interview with "Bild am Sonntag".

The move from defender Christopher Lenz to Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer is well known and confirmed by the club.

Manager Oliver Ruhnert had stated at the beginning of the week that it was already certain that more players would leave the club.

Likewise, new professionals have already been signed for the iron.

Ruhnert did not reveal names or other details.

Zingler emphasized: "It is important that we do not make so many mistakes at this level and let too many players go for free."

Union must generate transfer revenues every year.

The 56-year-old does not consider the fact that there is now hardly any player to be got without a release clause as a bad development and, among other things, spoke in favor of a salary cap.
