Berlin (dpa) - Manager Oliver Ruhnert is keeping a low profile when it comes to new goals for 1. FC Union Berlin after reaching 40 points in the remaining season.

"We don't want to spin around either, everything is great," said the manager of professional football at Köpenicker on Sunday in Sport1's "one-two" pass.

The Unioners in seventh place in the table even have a chance of a place in the European Cup in only their second season in the Bundesliga.

"Normally you have to say that almost the first six or seven places in the Bundesliga are usually taken," emphasized Ruhnert.

"So what we're playing at the moment is the championship of the other clubs, I almost said."

The fact that the Berliners are well ahead of their city rivals Hertha BSC in the table, who are fighting relegation with 26 points after 28 games, is not a benchmark for Ruhnert.

«Hertha BSC is not my claim.

We are my claim, ”emphasized Ruhnert.

For the person acting at Union, it does not matter, said the 49-year-old.
