The King of Jordan appears in public with Prince Hamzah at the Centennial Gala

The Jordanian monarch, King Abdullah II and Prince Hamzah bin Al-Hussein, appeared together on Sunday at the celebrations of the centenary of the founding of Jordan, in their first public appearance since the last crisis, according to scenes broadcast on state television.

In addition, the Royal Court published, via Twitter, a picture of the Jordanian monarch and his crown prince, Prince Hussein, Prince Hamzah bin Al-Hussein, and a number of princes on a visit to the royal shrines on the occasion of the country's centenary.

State media showed the Jordanian monarch and other members of the ruling family laying wreaths at the Unknown Soldier memorial.

The Kingdom of Jordan had recently announced arrests of former officials after monitoring contacts with foreign parties.

Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi later announced that "preliminary investigations" showed the involvement of "foreign parties" in "attempts to destabilize the security of the country" and "mobilizing citizens against the state."

After that, the Jordanian monarch declared that sedition "has been beaten."
